What we love hearing about

The vast majority of messages we receive are kind readers, archival researchers, and creators who want to share something they think we'd love. We answer those first. The list below is the kind of thing we genuinely want to read in our inbox:

• Story suggestions and source material. A kaidan you grew up hearing, a regional legend, an obscure Edo-period manuscript you think deserves an episode. Even a single sentence pointing us at a source is welcome.
• Corrections and historical feedback. Caught a wrong date? A misattributed print? A place name we mispronounced? We will fix it, credit you on the blog revision, and appreciate the rigor.
• Translations and primary-source help. If you read classical Japanese (or another language) and can help us verify a source, we would be honored to collaborate.
• Press, podcast guest invitations, and academic citation requests. Please include your outlet, deadline, and topic — we treat these as time-sensitive and prioritize them.
• Educational use and clip licensing. Teachers, professors, and museum educators writing about the channel — we are happy to grant non-commercial clips and discuss licensing for commercial use.
• Partnerships that respect the editorial mission.We do not run sponsored episodes. We are open to genuine collaborations with archives, museums, and publishers whose standards we already trust.

Response time, working language, and timezone

The editorial team operates from Japan Standard Time (JST, UTC+9). Working hours are weekdays 10:00–19:00 JST; messages received outside those hours are answered the next business day.

We currently answer email in English, Portuguese (Brazilian), and Japanese. If you write in another language, we will still do our best — but please be patient with machine-translation errors on our side.

We do not offer synchronous calls, video meetings, or phone support. Everything moves through email so we can preserve a paper trail and reply with care.
